What is conservation framing? Conservation framing employs the use of materials that have been proven to protect and maintain art in as close to its original condition as possible. Studio M uses Tru Vue UV Protection Glass which is 97% protective of ultraviolet light. By choosing Tru Vue Conservation Clear Glass or Tru Vue Museum Glass you are protecting your artwork from fading and deteriorating in the frame. Studio M also offers Tru Vue UV acrylic for an alternative to glass for artwork that may be shipped or oversized.
Studio M uses conservation quality Cresent and Rising mat boards to frame your artwork. The artwork is appropriately mounted to the ph neutral mat board using conservation mounts. Behind the mounting board is marvaseal, a moisture barrier and the backing board is corraplast, which does not produce any off-gas. The entire package is then encapsulated with J-lar acrylic tape to ensure against moisture. The package is placed in the frame and either acid free backing paper or frame sealing tape, complete the framed piece.
